Ready … Aim … Fire!

My son spent the weekend up in the Poconos with my brother and nephew hunting turkeys, which makes me think back to my younger days of shooting guns at targets at my family’s cabin in the mountains. Now, while the thought of killing an innocent turkey or deer is mind-boggling for me, oh how I love to shoot any sort of target, be it a soda can or a traditional bullseye. And I must admit, I’m a pretty good shot, even though some people think I am a girly girl.
Not too long ago, our office staff took a field trip to Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays in Coplay. While I haven’t tried out this type of shooting – yet – I am anxious to do so when it gets warmer, although they are open year-round.
Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays is located in a 125-acre abandoned quarry, which couldn’t be a safer location for a shooting range. And they have five stands at each of the 17 stations on the course, which accommodates beginners and experts alike, so I should have no problem feeling at home.
So what are you waiting for? Load up your shotgun, or rent one when you get there, and take aim at clay targets. I’d be curious to know what kind of shot you are.
