A night of art and music, from Allentown to Bethlehem

Saturday night, my friends and I started out our evening by going to see my step-brother’s art show at Art N Soul Studios in downtown Allentown. His exhibit, The Rotten Candy Part 2, is on display from now until February 12th. It includes many originals along with themed ones that he has turned into his own.
Walking through the gallery, I decided my favorite pieces were “The Perfect Recipe,” which includes his own version of Hansel and Gretel, and “The Paint Brush” (pictured above), a portrait of the late JonBenét Ramsey with a twist.
After the art show, we ventured over to Starfish Brasserie in Bethlehem to watch the band Smooth Addiction play. The lead singer, Judy, has Stevie Nicks styled vocals, which are backed up by an incredible band that makes for a great mix of originals and covers that leave everyone singing along.
Starfish has two sections, the bar area and the dining room, that bands can perform in. On Saturday, Smooth Addiction was in the bar, which tends to get a little crowded because of the band’s supportive following.
I’ve seen Addiction play at numerous locations across Lehigh Valley, including Comfort Suites-Bethlehem, Pizza Como, and Machs Gute. Each location has a different feel to it, but the show and environment are always great.
