Last Saturday was “Ladies and Gents Day Out” in Lehigh Valley. Now, as I tell you about our day out, keep in mind I already set everything up and it ran smoothly, so feel free to use this as an itinerary for you and your friends.

Around 4 p.m. on Saturday, 15 or so of us met at Mazezilla in Saylorsburg. I had allotted 2 – 3 hours there because they have so much to do: corn maze, pumpkin sling shot, pumpkin patch and hayride.

While waiting for everyone, my sister and I bought our pumpkins ($0.45 per lb.). Once everyone arrived, we headed down to the corn maze ($8). This year was a dinosaur theme, “The Maze Before Time.” Once inside, we split up into three groups. Although my group was in there for at least an hour, we were the first to finish the maze! One of our groups was in there for well over an hour, but they chose to do it without the map. Oh, that reminds me: don’t forget to buy the $1 postcard with the map on it, otherwise it could be a very long day.

After getting a bite to eat and some drinks at Scorecard in Wind Gap, at 8 p.m. we moved on to the day’s main attraction: Hotel of Horror and Altered Nightmares Haunted Houses.
This year Hotel of Horror’s theme is demonic possession; Alternated Nightmares’ is the seven deadly sins. Individually it’s $20 for the Hotel of Horror and $15 for the Altered Nightmare, but in my humble opinion everyone should get the combo pass $30 and experience them both.

This is a very popular attraction, so the lines can be extremely long. Our wait to get through both haunted houses was around two and half hours. Wait! Before you say “the heck with that,” I promise you, the wait was worth every second. Have fun with your friends in line, chat, try to scare each other. But watch out for Snort Gore, Bubba and Hollywood who may be lurking in the shadows waiting to scare you and steal your soul!

What’s your favorite haunted house in the Valley?
