Eating our way through Restaurant Week at the Promenade Shops
November 2nd, 2010 posted by Marc Kaminetsky
My wife and I were planning to meet some friends at the Promenade Shops for lunch. Since it was Restaurant Week, we decided to visit a restaurant that my wife had never been to before: White Orchids Thai Cuisine.
We typically don’t eat Thai food, but for $15 a person it was worth a try. It took the four of us a good 10 minutes to read through the menu and pick out our lunches. My wife decided to try the vegetarian spring rolls and shrimp pad Thai. I chose the Thai money bags and paradise cashew nuts.
Our appetizers arrived quickly and we all decided to share. The vegetarian spring rolls had a great dipping sauce and were clearly the favorite among the group. Within a couple of minutes our meals arrived. My paradise cashew nuts were mixed with chicken and white rice. It was a great mix of flavors and spice. My wife found her favorite Thai dish in her shrimp pad Thai.
Following our lunch at White Orchids, it was off to MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream & Treatery for their Restaurant Week offer. I enjoyed a cup of mint chocolate ice cream with marshmallows while Erin enjoyed the peanut butter ice cream with Reese’s® Pieces. I sampled her peanut butter ice cream as well and we both decided that we would recommend it to anyone who enjoys peanut butter.
Our afternoon ended with a brisk walk around the Promenade Shops.
