Several months ago a friend of mine told me that Groupon had added a Lehigh Valley section.  Since that time, I have purchased a bunch of offers including ice skating, movie rentals, meals and even a hot air balloon ride.

My first purchase on Groupon was for Jumbars in Bethlehem.  My wife and I had been hearing great things about this restaurant and this was a perfect reason for us to give it a try.  Since the certificate was getting ready to expire we decided to visit on Saturday morning.

The first thing we noticed about Jumbars was the relaxed atmosphere.  It really seemed as if the guests were enjoying themselves in a laid back café.  We were seated immediately and within minutes were decided on our breakfast.  I decided on an omelette with broccoli, mushrooms, caramelized onions and Swiss cheese.  The breakfast came with potatoes and homemade rye bread.

The omelette was delicious but the highlight of the meal was definitely the homemade jams.  I tried the orange marmalade and pumpkin butter.  Both were fantastic on the homemade bread.  It’s a good thing that the bakery sells their breads by the loaf; I will be purchasing the cinnamon raisin bread on my next visit.

Overall we had a good experience at Jumbars and will definitely be visiting again soon.  The Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwich with grilled pineapple sounds like a great reason to visit for lunch.

What is your favorite café in Lehigh Valley?
