The Great Allentown Fair

And I venture into my sixth month as Director of Marketing, I’m amazed how a change of venue has done so much for my mind and spirit. I consider myself very fortunate to be surrounded by colleagues who truly have a passion for promoting Lehigh Valley. As each day passes I find myself continuing to grasp more and more the importance of tourism to Lehigh Valley and the state as a whole.

I’m frequently asked by friends and relatives what exactly Discover Lehigh Valley does. In a nutshell, I always answer, we have the responsibility of promoting Lehigh Valley as a tourist and business location outside the region. There truly is so much to do in Lehigh Valley. You just have to know where to look. Please remember to visit DiscoverLehighValley.com as the staff spends countless hours packing it full of great information for visitors and locals alike.

As the summer draws to a close please remember the area is full of numerous fall fairs and festivals like Celtic Classic, Oktoberfest, Garlic Fest and the 159th The Great Allentown Fair opens today.  Who can’t resist the atmosphere, smells and music of this long standing Allentown tradition?

So, in closing, here’s to years to come for both the fair and me. Thanks to all our partners who make Discover Lehigh Valley what we are, and to you Lehigh Valley residents and visitors. Hopefully the Valley will continue to impress all of us.
