Firehouse Subs

Do you call it a sandwich, hoagie or a grinder? Whatever you call it; Lehigh Valley has plenty of famous delis. Some of the most popular shops are Dave’s Deli, Wally’s Deli and Primo Hoagies. Allentown recently added a new option, Firehouse Subs at the Airport Center shopping center.

With a new option in the area, my wife and I decided to visit Firehouse Subs on Saturday. We had heard good reviews and happened to be running some errands before the impending October snowstorm. As soon as we entered the shop we were greeted with a warm hello, firefighting memorabilia and a unique, extensive menu. The menu included subs called the Hook & Ladder®, Firehouse Meatball® and the Engineer®.

After looking at the menu for several minutes we decided on the New York Steamer® (corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo and Italian dressing) and the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket® (beef brisket smoked for 10 hours with melted cheddar and special sauces). Our subs arrived within a couple of minutes and looked great.

Both of the sandwiches were delicious, but I would recommend trying the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket®. Have you been to Firehouse Subs? What is your favorite sub?
