It’s Time for Me to Fly (from Lehigh Valley International)

Let me start by apologizing to Kevin Cronin and REO Speedwagon but I couldn’t resist. Everyone likes to take shots at our airport. But I, for one, am pretty happy to have Lehigh Valley International in my proverbial backyard. I know, I know, they don’t have enough direct flights from here to there, but come on folks a little connection never hurt anyone for the convenience they provide.
I love the fact that when I get off the plane I’m minutes from my door step, and that makes all the difference in the world to me, especially while lugging bags, wife, kid, etc. So for a slightly increased fare, which isn’t always the case, but can be the norm for airports LVIA’s size (being a Scranton native I know from experience, just look at Scranton Wilkes-Barre International) the nominal increase in fare is so insignificant for the convenience the airports affords me. Not to mention when you add in travel time to some of the larger airports, parking fees and the overall aggravation in getting to those airports it makes LVIA a “no brainer” in my opinion.
To those who haven’t seen the airport lately I urge you give it a try. The improvements made to the terminal are quite impressive. From the reworked check in areas, to the overall improvements made to the building, it is definitely starting to become the modern airport air travelers’ desire.
So next time Lehigh Valley you want to complain about a slightly higher ticket price or not as many air carriers as you’d like, STOP! And instead praise what we have; convenience, affordable parking, short security lines, uncrowded terminals, ease in checking luggage in and even easier time securing it after a flight.
So in my mind their tag line fits their airport code, ABE, Always a Better Experience.
