Today it’s my birthday… It’s their birthday too, yeah!

What do Kenny Rogers, Usain Bolt, Kim Cattrall and Count Basie have in common with ‘ill old me? That’s right we were all born on this day, August 21! Kenny Rogers is probably singing “The Gambler” somewhere and Usain Bolt is probably running somewhere but not me, I’m celebrating my birthday in my own special way around Lehigh Valley.
First of all, a nice wrench was thrown into my birthday plans when I was lucky enough to win four tickets to tonight’s Phillies game from a facebook contest on “Take a Taco’s” page. I never win anything so this was a very nice surprise. Make sure to take time at The Great Allentown Fair and Celtic Classic and grab some great food from these very nice people.
Next – my birthday breakfast. I’m letting myself indulge just this one time and have a donut. MaryAnn’s chocolate frosted is my favorite, but I don’t think I’ll be able to finish the whole thing. I think staff meetings should be outlawed on your birthday, but maybe it’s just a ruse to throw me a work surprise party … I’ll let you know.
Onto my birthday lunch at one of my favorite places, Cali Burrito. Santa Barbara taco and a fountain ginger ale will hit the spot. Getting a table will be my workout for the day.
My birthday celebration will be at the Phillies game tonight, but another night the husband will be taking me to The Apollo, historic Bethlehem’s crown jewel. I’m looking forward to just getting two or three appetizers for my dinner.
What’s a birthday without cake? It’s not a celebration if you ask me, so I’m hoping my sister listened and is getting me some cupcakes from Blondie’s in Catasauqua. The s’mores cupcake is the best I’ve ever had.
Don’t think I forgot about presents. I asked my husband to buy me a record player. Then I will need to buy some records and really build up my collection. I need some advice on where to go in Lehigh Valley to buy records. I think Count Basie and Kenny Rogers should be first.
For my birthday please like this blog on Lehigh Valley’s facebook page and share it with all your friends. And don’t forget to comment on our blog, Lehigh InSite.
