Easton is a Great Destination for The Holidays (Or Just Because)

A little over a week ago the annual Bethlehem Christmas City Classic and Candy Cane road race was held. This race is always a special day, not so much for the layout of the course but the festive feel that the race emanates. From the runners dressed in Christmas attire– to the spectators offering hot chocolate and some adult libations –this is a fun run.
After the race was over I had the opportunity to gather with a few friends to celebrate the race and welcome in the holidays. We chose Sette Luna in Easton. If you haven’t been to center city Easton in a while I’d recommend checking it out. Offering some exciting restaurants like the aforementioned Sette Luna, Ocean and the all new Maxim’s 22 along with unique shops like Forgotten Treasure Chest, Ingridable Design, and the famous Crayola Store the city is seeing resurgence.
On our way to Sette Luna we made sure to stop and grab a picture in front of the largest, non-wax, peace candle in North America. In honor of our armed forces service men and women, the candle is a symbol of peace and is an annual Easton tradition that can be found in Center Square.
Making the quick walk to Sette Luna we were pleased to see the restaurant in the festive spirit with decorations and specials to mark the season. Our group choose a bunch of different appetizers from cheese plates, sausage and salads, we were thoroughly impressed. Against our better judgment we decided that the appetizers weren’t enough so we ordered a few pasta dishes and pizzas for sharing. In a never ending attempt to find good pizza in Lehigh Valley (see previous blogs “Wanna Pizza Me” and And the Pizza Conversation continues. . .) I was genuinely pleased with their trays/pies as was my companions.
Between the race, good friends and great food the day was a hit.
Here’s to a great Holiday season Lehigh Valley
. Get out and take in the sites our area has to offer. I suggest giving Easton a chance, you won’t be disappointed!
