This Saturday I’ll be volunteering at an event I’ve never been to before, Community Day in Bethlehem, and I’m super excited about it. I’ve done a lot of volunteering in my life and I think there are a lot of valuable lessons that are taught by doing so. There’s the fact that you’ll get to meet new people and probably bring a smile to their face in some way by the efforts you are involved with.

You’ll also learn a little bit about work ethics, particularly if you’re of a younger age. You may also learn a thing or two about problem solving depending on what you’re tasked with. Once thing is for certain though, volunteering is for those that want to help others through acts of kindness and you’ll feel great after doing so.

So, what exactly is Community Day in Bethlehem all about? Historic Bethlehem Sites & Museums is opening their “doors” for the public to be able to explore the heritage of the town. The Heritage Trail is free and kids are free for all activities and entrance to specific sites; there are fees for adults to partake in interior tours of the museums with a starting price of $12 for two sites. Visitors will be able to partake in a variety of activities throughout the day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. including:

There’s also going to be the chance to win a $75 Family Membership and a commemorative print of the city of Bethlehem. All you have to do is post on their Facebook wall, between March 29 and April 12, about how much you love Historic Bethlehem Sites & Museums and Community Day. You can also follow along during the day’s events and share your experiences by using the hashtag #communityday on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Are you planning on exploring Bethlehem on this Community Day?
