Fall Golf in Lehigh Valley is Perfect
October 1st, 2015 posted by Ryan Hogan
Living in the eastern Pennsylvania we are afforded the luxury of four seasons, albeit of late it seems as if we only have two. But rest assured fall is here, and the season makes for the perfect time to hit the links. The weather isn’t as humidity, the courses aren’t as crowded, and the scenery is absolutely magnificent. Plus, a lot of the courses offer fall discounts as well.
If you refuse to put the clubs away just yet and are looking for a place to play, check out GolfLehighValley.com. For views second to none, I’d suggest Morgan Hill Golf Course with a breathtaking view of downtown Easton or Olde Homestead with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and fall foliage. If you reside a little more north of Lehigh Valley might I suggest Blue Shamrock, formerly Blue Ridge Country Club, Blue Shamrock has been renamed and reshaped. Pay particular attention to their shamrock shaped tee box as you gaze at the beautiful Blue Mountains
If you and your buddies are looking for a little mancation might I suggest making a weekend of it? There are tons of things to see and do no matter which of the cities you decide to stay plus, there are a variety of different lodging options available too. But, for this weekend let’s start in the Queen City, Allentown.
After a Friday afternoon round of golf at Iron Lakes Country Club, head to the Allentown Brew Works to enjoy some craft beer and a tasty dinner. Be sure to sample some of their flagship beers, which are brewed right in house. Afterwards, head out for a game just down the block at the PPL Center for a Lehigh Valley Phantoms game, the AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers.
On Saturday, enjoy an early morning round at Wedgewood Golf Course, which offers a unique 27 holes, and then get ready for an afternoon of automobiles. Head to the America On Wheels museum for a glimpse into classic cars of the past, as well as some well-known vehicles. To try your hand at the wheel, suit up at Lehigh Valley Grand Prix where you’ll reach thrilling speeds. Round out your night with dinner and a hand-crafted whisky drink at The Hamilton Kitchen & Bar.
Here’s to a few great rounds in Lehigh Valley and a wonderful fall season. Get out while you know what season is next!
