‘William Baziotes: Surrealist Watercolors’ Exhibit Now Open at Allentown Art Museum of The Lehigh Valley

Many of the late William Baziotes’ artwork was inspired by his love of poetry and ancient art. His interpretations of these mediums toward canvas resulted in some of the most exciting, engaging, and beautiful surrealist watercolor work of his time.

The Pittsburgh-born artist’s work, who lived from 1912 to 1963, will be on display at The Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley through August 23, 2015. in the Payne Hurd Gallery.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs 2015 Seasons Includes New Foods and a New Seating Section

New food at Coca-Cola Park for 2015

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs open their 2015 season on April 9 and, like pretty much every opening season before, there are fun new foods and park changes to look forward to.

In the past, the IronPigs have debuted new seating sections called the  “Hot Corner” and “Bacon Strip” in 2013 and the club introduced the Red Robin Tiki Terrace & Oasis in 2012. They also introduced urinal games in the men’s bathrooms to much fanfare, and our own video demonstration,in 2013 as well.

Mary Lambert is playing at the Musikfest Cafe at SteelStacks in Bethlehem on March 30 and you may not know about it. Why? Because she’s “relevant.”

Let’s be honest. Some current complaints about popular Lehigh Valley music venues (even if they are bringing in some incredible acts, like Hall & Oates and Marilyn Manson, on a regular basis) are that the artists booked there may not be “relevant.”

Many thought the restaurant would merely close its doors, however, that was never going to be the case!

Flint Hill Farm Educational Center is Perfect for a Family Getaway on the Farm

Just after the last snowfall of the 2015 winter season, and just before it quickly melted away with warmer temperatures, we visited Flint Hill Farm Educational Center on Flint Hill Road in Coopersburg.

Flint Hill Farm is a preserved farm located on a 28-acres in Lehigh County, PA. The farm dates back to about 1850. It was the home to farmer families Cicon and Hassick until Kathleen Fields purchased it in 1997. The working farm offers 6 acres of wooded paths, 20 acres of pastures for our sheep, goats, and cows and assorted gardens planted with herbs, flowers and vegetables.
