For the first time in its more than 30 year history, ArtsQuest added an eleventh “preview” night to its typical ten-day event, Musikfest; known as the largest music festival in the nation. Each year attendance exceeds 900,000 people who are treated to more than 500 performances, most of them being free.

Those that attended Preview Night at Musikfest were not left “Hungry Like The Wolf” by any stretch of the imagination as Duran Duran lit up the Sands Steel Stage.

Grimm’s Fairy Tales have always been a favorite of mine. I’m not sure which tale I like the best, but having a son kind of kept me away from a new found favorite of mine, Rapunzel. I, along with my almost 15-year old step daughter-to-be, Lauren, went to see the production of Rapunzel at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival in Lehigh Valley recently. Lauren is very interested in acting so I thought if she could see firsthand what is expected of an actress, it might help her in her decision-making process of what she wants to be when she grows up.

Those of us that live in the Northeast know that it has been a brutal winter and we would do anything to skip over spring and go right to summer. Calling all animal and nature lovers! Have you been to the Lehigh Valley Zoo? This wonderful attraction, located in Schnecksville, Pa. amidst the 1,00 acre Trexler Nature Preserve, is home to all different kinds of animals from “A” to “Z”: Alpacas to Zebras.

The Zoo is open year round, and I recently had the chance to make my first visit of the 2015 season.
