World Series of Bicycling

Last Friday, I returned, once again, to the Valley Preferred Cycling Center for the Opening Friday Night Race of the World Series of Bicycling. There was something familiar, yet there was a brand new atmosphere.

I have always maintained that Friday Nights at the Velodrome are family fun. Now it’s taken to the next level.

When it comes to entertainment, I’m more of a sci-fi or action-adventure kind of girl. When it comes to enjoying life, if you have a new thing for me to try, chances are I won’t turn you down. Last night, at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival hosted by DeSales University, I had the chance to see a preview performance of Oklahoma!, the first musical written by the dynamic duo, Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Why are dads seemingly always much harder to buy for than moms? Is it because moms like more stuff or because dads always seem to have what they want?

I think it’s because dads generally don’t want a big fuss made about them, even on Father’s Day. So, it may be difficult to figure out just what to get the guy who probably doesn’t want you to get him anything.

Starting this past weekend, the Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley kicked off a new exhibit- and it’s one that you don’t want to miss!

Through September 1st, you can stop by the exhibit Toulouse-Lautrec and His World, which is included in your regular admission to the museum.  The exhibit is on loan from the collection of the Herakleidon Museum in Athens, Greece and will only be making two other stops in the United States, making the Allentown Art Museum its closest location to both Philadelphia and New York City.

This past Friday and Saturday I spent my afternoons at Sands® Casino Resort Bethlehem and the Sands® Event Center tasting my way through the 4th Annual Lehigh Valley Food & Wine Festival.

Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks

It’s that time of year when I pull out my old soccer mom chair and put it in the trunk next to my convenient roll up blanket with handles. On any given day, and night, you can catch free concerts all throughout Lehigh Valley and I always want to be prepared.

There are way too many locations to talk about so I’m going to narrow it down to my top five…in no particular order. Feel free to comment with your favorites too, so everyone gets a well-deserved shout-out.
