This weekend seems to be panning out with some great weather, and it just so happens to be my birthday too! I’m excited to spending some time with family & friends, and to gear up for a few days of fun, I’ve compiled a quick list of places to see, things to do, and restaurants to enjoy that I’d like to stop by to help celebrate my special day!

The Oaks Restaurant Patio

Woodstone Country Club is majestically situated in the sunny, sleepy Danielsville woods in Lehigh Valley. It’s a bit out of the way. But, that’s the point.

Mother's Day Brunch

The day is nearing quickly. You know, that ONE special day that every mom gets, Mother’s Day. This year it’s on Sunday, May 12 and I’ve got the job of making restaurant reservations for our gang in Lehigh Valley. I’ve found ten great places to take your mom, and I’ve listed them in no particular order. Some are offering special brunches and others are opening up special for the day.

The Championship

The Championship is set.

Emerging from the left side of the bracket is 02 Lehigh Valley IronPigs and their opponent from the right side of the bracket is 01 Musikfest.

Both teams are family fun, summertime activities and as such had high expectations coming into the Lunacy.

Final Four

And there were four, the Final Four.

Lehigh Valley Lunacy, which began March 1st with 64 participants is now down to four teams playing in semi-final matchups to get to the Championship!

Elite Eight

We’re down to the Elite Eight,  there are plenty of top seeds left but only one underdog remains dancing in Lehigh Valley Lunacy, which began March 1st.

As we get down to the end of the tournament, voting for the rounds won’t last as long, so spread the word!

Yummy mac and cheese!

When I was little, there were few things that excited me more that seeing the blue box of Kraft macaroni and cheese out on the counter, maybe even Stouffer’s if we were feeling fancy that night. From there, we progressed to after-school Easy Mac (I even had my parents mail me a box of Easy Mac when I was studying abroad in London… my English roommates didn’t really understand the appeal).

Sweet Sixteen

We’re officially down to the Sweet Sixteen, with upsets and close calls, there are plenty of favorites and underdogs left dancing in Lehigh Valley Lunacy.

The Second Round Recap:

Located just north of Lehigh Valley lies the lovely, little town of Jim Thorpe. I recently spent a Friday night in town and had a great time. We started at Trattoria on Route 903. This Italian restaurant just opened its second location and it’s much larger than the original, and offers the same great food.

Round Two

Lehigh Valley Lunacy continues. It’s pretty simple. There remain 32 participants, broken into four regions, Play, Stay, Eat and Events.

It’s March, time to start the Madness Lunacy! Let’s see who’s going to continue on!
