In my mind it’s both, but what keeps me from cabin fever is the opportunity for a little extra romance by doing something special with the one I love.

Blue Mountain isn’t just for skiing. You’ll find mountain bike trails, disc golf, a full-service restaurant, and much more during the summer months. The new Slopeside Pub & Grille features a full outdoor patio bar, now open year-round.

In addition to all of that, the highest peak in Pennsylvania also makes for a great location to hold events, as well.

A Rustic Dreams Lehigh Valley Getaway

Tuesday was an absolute beautiful day in Lehigh Valley. The sun was shining and the temperature just right for mid-May.

I had a request for assorted brochures and the Discover Lehigh Valley Official Visitors Guide from Matthew at Rustic Dreams Bed & Breakfast in Bethlehem. I was happy to drive out to meet Matt in person and tour this lovely property.

Shula's American Steak House

This week I had the privilege of dining with a private party at Shula’s Steak House at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. This was my first experience with private dining, and it will be one that lives positively in my memory for a long time.

We met for dinner in Coaches Corner, which was filled with vintage photos of the Miami Dolphins and Don Shula.

It was Saturday afternoon and Dave and I sat watching TV wondering what we should do with ourselves. We were too lazy to go for a walk or ride bikes. We really didn’t want to go shopping either. Then it struck us. We remembered going to the Food & Wine Festival at Sands Bethlehem, and we absolutely fell in love with one of the bubbly “wines” we had from Pinnacle Ridge Winery, a local Lehigh Valley winery.

So, we decided to seize the day and go for a tasting or two, three, four, five or six! It was about 4:30 p.m. and we thought it might be slow since they were only open until 6 p.m. Well, we were wrong. The winery was jamming and we had to fight for a spot at the tasting bars they had.

Hair by Eskandalo!

Lehigh Valley is known for having an almost disproportionately large number of hair salons and barber shops.

Most people I know are very loyal to their stylist often following them if they change shops. For close to 20 years I drove 90 minutes to go to the same lady but unfortunately for me, she retired.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

The husband and I headed out for a date night, a rare occasion since we have a 3-year-old at home. That darn baby had a sleepover at Nana’s so we had a night to paint the town.

We headed out to the Copperhead Grill in Center Valley for dinner before Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival’s production of Tennessee William’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
