Where to find that vinyl

For the last several years, the vinyl music format has experienced something of a renaissance, particularly amongst young listeners. More and more record labels, both major and independent, are offering a vinyl option for new releases. Earlier this year, the Washington Post reported that vinyl record sales have hit their highest point since 1997. Is this merely the product of temporary, casual nostalgia for bygone days, or is it something more? While this news may come as a surprise to some, it makes perfect sense to me.

Revitalized Southside Bethlehem

Last night was my second night of Musikfest greatness for 2013. I took my mom with me to hear the sounds of The Family Stone and KC & The Sunshine Band. My mom just happens to be a Musikfest virgin AND she has never been to the revitalized SouthSide of Bethlehem. It surprised me that she hadn’t been back since her father worked at Bethlehem Steel for 40 years!

So, I was super excited for her to check out at least some of the campus.

8 Lehigh Valley Visitor Centers

Friday afternoon, we gathered to hear people speak about what was, what is and what will be for the new Bethlehem Visitors Center at SteelStacks™ in the old Bethlehem Steel Stock House. The Stock House is the oldest building still standing on the old Bethlehem Steel complex. It is a gateway Visitors Center, meaning that we hope it will encourage people to see all that Lehigh Valley has to offer. See our gallery and a short video of the new touch screens below.

It is a very unique place, housed in the restored Bethlehem Steel Stock House, but did you know it is one of our eight Lehigh Valley Visitors Centers?

An Evening with Groucho

I am a Marx Brothers fan. So being able to see An Evening with Groucho at Miller Symphony Hall this past Saturday night seemed like a blast. It was.

An Evening with Groucho is a show starring Frank Ferrante as Groucho, accompanied by pianist Jim Furmston. It starts when Jim comes onstage to play a Medley from the Marx Brothers Films. From there, hold onto your hat.
