It might get loud

I have been waiting to see It Might Get Loud, a documentary about the electric guitar featuring Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin, The Edge from U2 and Jack White from White Stripes and The Raconteurs, since August. Last weekend, it finally came to the Civic Theatre in Allentown.

It was the perfect Saturday night. Me, Casey and two friends of ours started the evening at Liberty Street Tavern for dinner and some beverages. The food there is always good. My buddy tried something different that night – wasabi wings – which were fantastic. They weren’t really spicy but they sure did open up your sinus.

Portrait of a Lady evening dress by Janet Patterson

As someone who enjoys period films, I knew I would like seeing the fancy gowns, costumes and wedding dresses from some of my favorite movies at the “Fashion in Film” exhibit. So earlier this week, I headed to Allentown Art Museum and took a guided tour.

I don’t know how you feel about your sibling, but my sister is my best friend. We do a ton of stuff together, but there is one in particular that I enjoy: The Morning Movies.

Every Sunday, we go the AMC movie theatre at the Tilghman Square Shopping Center. My mom has dubbed this outing “St. Cinema” because instead of being at church we’re at the movies.

Last week I decided to treat myself to a movie. While some people would never dream of going to the movies by themselves, I really don’t mind. I usually do it when no one else in my family wants to see the film that I want to see.

I have two favorite places to see a show, and they couldn’t be more different from each other if they tried.

Becky's

I opened an envelope the other day and was pleasantly surprised to find my first holiday gift of the season! It was such a cool gift, I wanted to share the idea right away: I received two tickets to attend Becky’s Drive In for the upcoming 2009 season. How fun is that?

I love seeing movies at Becky’s. I’m signed up to receive their e-newsletters and just received info on how I can get advanced tickets and gift certificates for my friends and family. (There’s no way I’m giving up mine.)
