First Night Bethlehem

In less than three short weeks it will be time to ring in the New Year. Hard to believe, I know.

One of my favorite ways to do so is at Bethlehem’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration called First Night. I used to volunteer with the non-profit organization that ran it before ArtsQuest took it over last year, so I guess you could say I’ve always worked the event but never really experienced it.

Cloud Cult At Zoellner

I survived the doubleheader concert extravaganza last weekend, so here's my Cloud Cult experience, as promised. 

Like many Zoellner concertgoers, our group of six started at The Tally Ho for a drink. After that, we made our way to another favorite spot of Zoellner regulars: the front porch of a college student’s house. It's not as bad as it sounds; we were just stopping by to pick up another over 21 Cloud Cult fan. After having the standard warm can of beer, we made our way up the hill to Zoellner.

Rock and or Roll

This weekend is going to “Rock and or Roll.” I got a concert doubleheader planned: Cloud Cult at Lehigh University’s Zoellner Arts Center Friday night, followed by the Kings of Leon sold out show at the Electric Factory in Philly on Saturday.

Cloud Cult, based out of Minnesota, is one of the first “green bands.” They travel from show to show in a biodiesel van, and they built their recording studio on the lead singer’s organic farm, which is powered by geothermal energy.
