Join the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail for Chambourcin Weekend

Every March a bunch of us get together to experience “Vino in the Valley”, one of the many events throughout the year organized by the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail. It is a lot of fun because by then we can’t wait to get out of the house after a long winter of cabin fever.

Well, coming up on October 17th & 18th, we can take the scenic drive around Lehigh Valley to the nine family owned wineries that make up the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail before we batten down the hatches for winter. It will also be a great time to check out the fall foliage as we celebrate Chambourcin Weekend.

Living in the eastern Pennsylvania we are afforded the luxury of four seasons, albeit of late it seems as if we only have two. But rest assured fall is here, and the season makes for the perfect time to hit the links. The weather isn’t as humidity, the courses aren’t as crowded, and the scenery is absolutely magnificent. Plus, a lot of the courses offer fall discounts as well.

The Great Allentown Fair, Lehigh Valley’s last hurrah of summer before football takes our weekends and pumpkin is everywhere.

Speaking of pumpkins, this is a fair, an actual fair, full of livestock and produce. The fair also includes plenty of rides, a midway, wonderful things to eat, and a diverse variety of Grandstand Entertainment.

The Brick’s menu is expansive

I would live off pizza and Italian food if I could, and I’m not joking. Luckily for me, the Lehigh Valley has plenty of top-notch Italian restaurants and pizzerias that make me feel like I’m eating handmade pasta in Naples.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants is The Brick in Bethlehem, Pa. The family-run restaurant specializes in thin-crust wood-fired pizzas, leaving the crust with a wonderful charred finish. The Brick now serves brunch, adding unique Italian twists on typical brunch dishes. There’s nothing like it in the Valley.

No Airfare Required

Top o’ the mornin’ to ya!

That’s about all I have when it comes to Irish sayings and phrases. Excuse my corniness. But I do consider myself to have a pretty good understanding of Irish culture, because I spent a week there at the end of this past June. A week was enough time for me to soak in all the unique aspects of the Irish lifestyle – a.k.a eating and drinking well.
