Get Social

The web, the internet, the interwebs, cyberspace, whatever you call it, it’s not getting any smaller.

They, whomever “they” are, said the internet would shrink the world, and maybe for a while, it did, bringing us all close together, but now, with the number of social media sites out there, it seems to be getting much bigger again. How do you get through the clutter? How do you choose what to be on and what to invest your time in?

It’s all about community.

Brew Works Craft Beer Festival

Enjoying quality craft beer is akin to enjoying music. Nearly everyone loves music, but some people love AC/DC and others love Bonnie Raitt. Some people follow Ke$ha across the country and others follow Bruce Springsteen as he tours.

Okay, no one follows Ke$ha across the country, but you get my point.

Welcome to Peddler's Village

The holiday season in Lehigh Valley is filled with wonderful attractions and events.

Over the next four weeks I will be visiting some of these great venues including Chriskindlmarkt Bethlehem, Lights in the Parkway and Koziar’s Christmas Village. With that being said, I kicked off the 2012 holiday season with a visit to Peddler’s Village for their Grand Illumination Celebration.

Full Plate + Emtpy Stomach = Satisfaction

With Thanksgiving just around the corner chances are you’ll be having your fill of turkey.  So when you’re ready for a different type of meal, why not enjoy some finer dining?

Last week a friend of mine was in town for the day and we decided to meet for dinner.  After establishing that I was too indecisive to make a restaurant choice, we ended up somewhere we frequent pretty often, the Sands Casino® Bethlehem.  But before we were ready to test our luck on the tables, we decided to stop by one of my favorite restaurants for a delicious meal.

Where to eat after the game.

After the tailgating, touchdowns and, hopefully, not a tie, the crowd at Fisher Field will need somewhere to catch a bite or a few drinks. After Lehigh and Lafayette meet for the 148th time on Saturday, both Bethlehem and Easton downtown areas will be awash in alumni, family, friends and students. Shops get full. Bars get packed. Seats get limited.

We’ve seen it before. In fact, we’ve been in the thick of it. You walk out of the stadium with your friends and family and everyone starts wondering where they should go next. The first spot you get to is packed and it’s a 45 minute wait. You didn’t make reservations because, well, whoops. So, where can you head in the Bethlehem and Easton areas following the game?

What's Open on Thanksgiving?

While some family members can’t wait to get started on cooking that Thanksgiving turkey, let’s face it, there are some who would rather just order a pizza.

Or there was that one time my sister-in-law overcooked the turkey and we all pretend it was great. That was awkward and would probably have been a good time to just have packed it in.

So, if you don’t have Thanksgiving dinner plans, or just want to try something different this year, we have compiled a list of Lehigh Valley restaurants that will be open Thanksgiving day and night.

Lehigh Valley Halloween

So did anyone in Lehigh Valley get out and take advantage of some spooky fun last weekend? There was plenty of Halloween fun for both kids and adults to do.

We decided to do a little Halloween club hopping and of course we also needed to find some dinner. Our intention was to hit at least 4 places in our area for some Halloween fun.

Bear Creek Harvest Wine Festival

The sliding glass door on our fifth story room at the slopeslide Hotel at Bear Creek Mountain Resort opened to the mountain, pool and guests enjoying the 2012 Harvest Wine Festival. A few months too soon to watch the skiiers whizzing by, we enjoyed the crisp autumn air breezing in before heading down to the main lodge; and the wine.
