Blog Picture - Birthday #6

My wife and I have celebrated many memorable birthdays in Lehigh Valley.  Most of these celebrations have included dinner at one of our favorite Bethlehem restaurants including Apollo Grill, Edge Restaurant and Emeril’s Chop House at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem.  My wife’s birthday was especially special because the day featured just enough snow to create a winter wonderland.

Since the snow made driving a little challenging, the two of us decided to bundle up and walk to downtown Bethlehem for dinner.  With so many options we headed down Main Street until something caught our attention.  That something just happened to be the aroma of garlic coming from Mama Nina.

Full Plate + Emtpy Stomach = Satisfaction

With Thanksgiving just around the corner chances are you’ll be having your fill of turkey.  So when you’re ready for a different type of meal, why not enjoy some finer dining?

Last week a friend of mine was in town for the day and we decided to meet for dinner.  After establishing that I was too indecisive to make a restaurant choice, we ended up somewhere we frequent pretty often, the Sands Casino® Bethlehem.  But before we were ready to test our luck on the tables, we decided to stop by one of my favorite restaurants for a delicious meal.

Barenaked Ladies

The first adventure of my jam packed weekend was to rock out to Barenaked Ladies at Sands Event Center. When my girlfriend purchased tickets to see her favorite band she didn’t realize that three other bands were playing too.

Let me tell you, she was pumped to find out that Big Head Todd & The Monsters were playing, along with Blues Traveler.

Incubus

Last night, Kate and I went to see Incubus for the first-ever concert at the new Sands Bethlehem Event Center. (Kim was there too, but she was with the other big cheeses up in the VIP suites.) We stopped by McGrady’s beforehand to get dinner, fuel up and grab a few pints, then made the short trek over to the Sands property. We found it easiest to park in the deck and venture through the casino and the Shoppes to get in line for the show, along with hundreds of other fans.

Some of us from work got the chance to tour the venue a few weeks ago so we were already familiar with the layout and space. This came in handy when we were ducking and weaving through the massive crowd in order to get to a good spot. I hadn’t listened to Incubus much in the last few years, but I used to be a huge fan so I knew most of the songs they played last night. Here’s a short clip from when they performed “Pardon Me,” my all-time favorite Incubus song. It’s not the best quality, but you get the idea.
